COAST PROTECTION ACT 1949

The Dover District Council, acting in their capacity as coast protection authority hereby give notice under subsection (i) of section 5 of the above Act that they propose to carry out coast protection works as described herein at Oldstairs Bay, Kingsdown, Deal, Kent. The work will consist of: the construction of a concrete terraced sea wall, timber breastwork and two timber groynes. The estimated cost of the work is £990,000. Any person may, not later than 4th September 2000 serve a written notice of objection to the above proposal on the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and on the above-mentioned authority. Any such notice must contain a statement of the grounds of objection and must be send by pre-paid post to Flood and Coastal Defence with Emergencies Division, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Eastbury House, 30-34 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7TL and to the Chief Executive of the authority at the address below.
