NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Notice is hereby given that an application is being made to the Environment Agency by Severn Trent Water Limited, of 2297 Coventry Road, Birmingham B26 3PU, for a variation to licence number 18/54/08/317 (Astley) to abstract from boreholes in the Sherwood Sandstone for public water supply purposes, as specified: The current licence permits abstractions of 12,000 cubic metres per day and 2,920,000 cubic metres per annum from underground strata at Astley, near Stourport, Worcestershire, by means of two boreholes at SO 8033 6874 and SO 8038 6876. The variation being applied for is to increase the permitted abstractions to 17,000 cubic metres per day and 4,392,000 cubic metres per annum. A copy of the application and of any maps, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at Stourport Library, County Buildings, Worcester Street, Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire, at all reasonable hours during the period beginning on 1st September 2000 and ending on 6th October 2000. (Note the library is open all day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday plus Saturday morning.) Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Area Flood Defence and Water Resources Manager, Environment Agency, Upper Severn Area, Hafren House, Welshpool Road, Shelton, Shrewsbury SY3 8BB, before the end of the said period.
