NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that T. L. Howie & Sons, of Chappel Farm, Little Totham, Maldon, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from Little Totham Brook between National Grid Reference TL 88350945 and TL 88620886 at Chappel Farm, Little Totham, Maldon, Essex. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 100 cubic metres per hour; 2400 cubic metres per day; 158,600 cubic metres (per year) between 1st November and 31st March each year. The water will be used to fill a fully sealed storage reservoir subsequent to reabstraction for spray irrigation. Mr. Howie will fully revoke the seepage licence 8/39/39/82 if the winter storage application is successful. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Chappel Farm, Little Totham, between 31st August and 1st October 2000. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant. on behalf of J.
