NOTICE OF APPLICATOINS FOR LICENCES TO ABSTRACT WATER

Notice is hereby given that Applications are being made to the Environment Agency (Anglian Region) for licences to abstract water as described below. The inland waters concerned are as follows: drains, dykes and sewers of the Witham IV Internal Drainage Board, within the Board’s area in the districts of Boston and East Lindsey in the County of Lincoln. The proposed abstractions are to be supported by an application to transfer water into the Drains from the River Witham at Dogdyke. This is effectively a renewal of licences which expired on 31st October 2000. There is an overall reduction of annual quantities. All the water abstracted is to be used for spray irrigation of crops between April and October inclusive in each year. NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that R. H. J. Farms Ltd, of Harehills Farm, Toynton St. Peter, Spilsby, Lincolnshire PE23 5AY, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary Licence Number 4/30/13/S/48 between TF 4070 6241, and TF 4158 6268, between TF 3917 6172 and TF 3963 6184, and at TF 4126 6258, from the East Fen Catchwater Drain and riparian dykes in the Parish of Toynton St. Peter, in the District of East Lindsey, in the County of Lincoln. The vairation applied for is to include additional land. No other alterations are being applied for. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: at TF 2081 5474: 38,640 cubic metres per day and 1 million cubic metres per year between 1st April and 31st October in any year, and at TF 3792 5449: 30,000 cubic metres per day, 777,365 cubic metres per year, between 1st April and 31st October in any year. The water will be used for transfer to drains, dykes and sewers of the Witham IV Drainage, Board for reabstraction by individual Members of Water Transfer Ltd, for spray irrigation of crops.
