Notice is hereby given that Cable & Wireless Communications (Mercury) has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport & the Regions, under paragraph 11 of Schedule 2 to the Telecommunications Act 1984, to lay 1 cable from Shirley, USA to Bude, Cornwall, UK. Plans showing the route of the cable may be inspected at Cable & Wireless, Waterside House, Longshot Lane, Bracknell, Berkshire RG12 1XL, contact Manager, Network Agreements & Acquisitions and Bude Public Library, The Wharf, Bude, Cornwall EX23 8LG. Any person who wishes to make representations about the proposed works or who wishes to claim compensation for any loss or damage that may be sustained by such person in consequence of the execution of the proposed works should make their representations or claims in writing to the Department of the Environment, Transport & the Regions, Ports Division, Zone 2/31, Great Minister House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR, within 32 days of the date of this notice quoting Ref. MNA 157/1604/4 and marked for the attention of Mr. Damion Bagalue.
