THE CARTER PENGUIN GROUP & SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES PENSION PLAN
PURSUANT TO SECTION 27 OF THE TRUSTEE ACT 1925

The Carter Penguin Group & Subsidiary Companies Pension Plan (“The Scheme”) was established with effect from 1st January 1972. The company went into Receivership on 6th December 1999. On 19th June 2000, Alexander Forbes (formerly Bradstock) Trustee Services Limited of registered office, 1 Seething Lane, London EC3N 4NH, was appointed Independent Trustee and has since proceeded with the winding-up of the scheme. Alexander Forbes Trustee Services Limited have corresponded by post with all known Members of the scheme. Accordingly, it is of vital importance that any person having a claim against or an interest in the scheme, including any person who may have been employed by the company or an associated employer on a part time basis and who considers that his or her exclusion from the scheme may have consituted indirect discrimination, who has not received correspondence from us should make themsleves known to the Trustees of the scheme. Particulars of any claim should be sent in writing to Mr. Darren Toms, Alexander Forbes Trustee Services Limited, Hine House, 25 Regents Street, Nottingham NG1 5BU, on or before 23rd June 2001, after which date Alexander Forbes Trustee Services Ltd will proceed with the winding-up of the scheme and distribution of the scheme assets having regard only to the claims and interests of which it has had notice. Notification is not required from persons who are currently in receipt of a pension from the schemes, or who have received correspondence relating to these schemes from Alexander Forbes Trustee Services Ltd.
