The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order, under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of a length of highway at the Cock Pitt, Derby, measuring 310 metres in length. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Naylor Sale and Widdows Ltd, by Derby City Council, on 9th October 1997, under Ref. DER/12/96/1404/PRI, the variation of condition granted to Shoosmiths Solicitors, by Derby City Council, on 27th October 2000, under Ref. DER/10/00/01214/PRI, and the reserved matters permission granted to Shoosmiths Solicitors by Derby City Council, on 16th March 2001, under Ref. DER/11/00/1604/PRI. The proposed Order will require the provision of a new highway and the improvement of existing highway by MetroHolst Ltd, maintainable at public expense, and for which the highway authority is to be the Derby City Council. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected, at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 25th May 2001, at the Derby City Council, Roman House, Friar Gate, Derby, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the East Midlands (quoting Ref. EMCM 505035/1/204) at the address below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order, within the period of 28 days commencing on 25th May 2001, by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for the East Midlands, Transport, The Belgrave Centre, Stanley Place, Talbot Street, Nottingham NG1 5GG.
