DECLARATION OF NATURE RESERVE

ORFORDNESS-HAVERGATE, PARISH OF ORFORD, COUNTY OF SUFFOLK

Notice is hereby given, in pursuit of section 35(1)(c) of the above-mentioned Act, that by the Orfordness-Havergate Nature Reserve No. 2 Declaration 2001 made on 28th June 2001, English Nature declared that the land being part of Orford beach containing 802.42 hectares or thereabouts situated in the above-mentioned parish in the county of Suffolk and shown shaded on the map attached to the said Declaration is being held by the National Trust, a body approved by English Nature and secondly that the land containing 106.67 hectares or thereabouts, known as Havergate Island situate adjacent or near to the above-mentioned parish and shown hatched on the said map is being held by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, a body approved by English Nature and that English Nature further declared that all the land aforesaid is being managed as a nature reserve. Certified copies of the Orfordness-Havergate Nature Reserve No. 2 Declaration 2001 have been deposited for public inspection, free of charge, during normal office hours, at the offices of Suffolk County Council in Ipswich and Suffolk Coastal District Council at Woodbridge and at the office of English Nature at Regent House, 110 Northgate Street, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. 28th June 2001.
