STOPPING-UP OF A HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that Hartlepool Borough Council, the Highway Authority, intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, on Tuesday 18 September 2001, at 2.15 pm for Orders pursuant to section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that the length of highways referred to in the Schedules hereto be stopped-up on the ground that it is unnecessary. A copy of the plans showing the part of the highway to be stopped-up may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Legal Division of the Chief Executive’s Department, Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool. Schedule Part George Street; Drawing No M49,898 The part of the highway to be stopped-up is located approximately 40 metres from the junction with Mainsforth Terrace on the north side of Surtees Street and extends for approximately 29 metres in a northerly direction from the rear of the northern footpath on Surtees Street. The width of the highway is approximately 12 metres. Schedule Part Earl Street; Drawing No M49,901 The part of the highway to be stopped-up is located on the western side of Penrith Street and commences on the north west tangent point at the junction of Earl Street and Penrith Street and then travels in a north-westerly direction for approximately 98 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 10 metres. Schedule Footpath Newark Road; Drawing No M49,903 The footpath to be stopped-up is located between Nos 44 and 46 Newark Road and commences at the rear of the western footpath on Newark Road and then travels in a westerly direction for approximately 32 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 2.5 metres. Schedule Footpath Swalebrook Avenue; Drawing No M49,912 The footpath to be stopped-up is located adjacent to No 55 Catcote Road and No 32 Swalebrooke Avenue, Hartlepool and commences at the rear of the eastern footpath on Catcote Road and travels in an easterly direction for approximately 50 metres up to the rear of the western footpath on Swalebrooke Avenue. The width of the footpath is approximately 2.5 metres. Schedule Footpath Whitby Walk; Drawing M49,923 1. The footpath to be stopped-up runs between Nos 13 and 14 Whitby Walk and commences at a point to the rear of the footpath outside No 13 Whitby Walk and then travels in an easterly direction for approximately 20 metres. The width of the footpath is approximately 2.5 metres. 2. The footpath to be stopped-up runs between Nos 18 and 19 Whitby Walk and commences at a point to the rear of the footpath outside No 18 Whitby Walk and then travels in a northerly direction for approximately 20 metres.
