NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Hildon Limited of Hildon House Broughton near Stockbridge, Hampshire, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 11/42/18.10/603 to abstract water from chalk strata at National Grid Ref SU 3150 3085 south of Hildon House in the Parish of Broughton in the area of Test Valley Borough Council. The variations being applied for are (i) to increase the maximum quantity of water to be abstracted for bottling purposes from 22,800 cubic metres all year to 50,000 cubic metres all year with additional extraction of 16,500 cubic metres all year to be used for bottle washing then returned to source via a soakaway, (ii) increases in the maximum amount of water to be abstracted each day from 63 cubic metres to 192.3 cubic metres and each hour from 14 cubic metres to 32 cubic metres and (iii) the use of a pump with a total operating capacity of 16 cubic metres not 14 cubic metres. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Hildon House, Broughton near Stockbridge, Hampshire, between 24th August and 24th September 2001.
