GONZALEZ BYASS (UK) LIMITED (1971) PENSION AND LIFE ASSURANCE SCHEME
Gonzalez Byass (UK) Limited (1971) Pension and Life Assurance Scheme (“the Scheme”) was established with effect from 1 July 1971. Contributions to the Scheme ceased with effect from 9 June 1992, and it was later decided to proceed with the winding-up of the Scheme. In December 2001 Capital Cranfield Trustees Limited, were appointed a Trustee of the Scheme by the Liquidator of Gonzalez Byass (UK) Limited, and since then has been working with the insurers Friends Provident to complete the winding-up process in accordance with the Rules of the Scheme and legislative requirements. Announcements regarding the above have been sent by post to known Members of the Scheme. Accordingly, it is of vital importance that any person having a claim against or an interest in the Scheme, including any person who may have been employed by the Company or an associated employer on a part-time basis and who considers that their exclusion from the Scheme may have constituted indirect discrimination, who has not yet received a copy of the Announcement should make themselves known to the Trustees of the Scheme. Particulars of any claim should be sent in writing to Patrick Day, Director, Capital Cranfield Trustees Limited, Harcourt House, 19 a Cavendish Square, London W1G 0PN, on or before 28 February 2002, after which the Trustees will proceed with the winding-up of the Scheme and distribute the Scheme Assets having regard only to the claims and interests of which they have had notice. Notice is not required from persons who are in receipt of a pension from the Scheme, or have received correspondence relating to this Scheme from the Trustees.
