STOPPING-UP OF A HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that Hartlepool Borough Council, the Highway Authority, intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, on Thursday 9 May 2002, at 2.15 pm, for an Order, pursuant to section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that the length of highway referred to in the Schedule hereto to be stopped up on the ground that it is unnecessary. A copy of a plan showing the part of the highway to be stopped up may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Legal Division of the Chief Executive’s Department, Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool. The part of the highway footpath to be stopped up runs between Nos 64 and 66 Pine Grove, and commences at a point level with the western boundary of the properties. The highway then travels in an easterly direction for approximately 18 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 2.5 metres. Schedule Mason Walk, footpath alleyway between Nos 10 and 11 (Drawing No M49, 914). The part of the highway footpath to be stopped up runs between Nos 10 and 11 Mason Walk, and commences at a point level with the western boundary wall of No 11. The highway then travels in an easterly direction for approximately 17 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 3 metres. The highway then travels in a southerly direction for approximately 56 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 1.8 metres. Schedule Middleton Road, footpath alleyway between Nos 9 and 11 (Drawing No M49, 913). The part of the highway footpath to be stopped up runs between Nos 9 and 11 Middleton Road, and commences at a point level with the eastern boundary wall of No 9 to the rear of the footpath. The highway then travels in a northerly direction for approximately 18 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 3 metres. Schedule South Parade, footpath alleyway between Nos 4 and 5 (Drawing No M50, 003). The part of the highway footpath to be stopped up runs between Nos 4 and 5 South Parade, and commences at a point on the north-east boundary of No 4 South Parade to the rear of the eastern side footpath of South Parade. The highway then travels in a westerly direction for approximately 20 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 3 metres. The length of highway footpath to be stopped up runs between Nos 15 to 18 Willow Walk and No 19 Willow Walk, and commences at a point level with the north-east corner of the flats Nos 15 to 18. The highway then travels in a southerly direction for approximately 5.5 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 2.5 metres. Schedule Millston Close (Drawing No M50, 005) The length of the highway to be stopped up commences at a point to the rear of the service strip between Nos 39 and 37 Millston Close. The highway then runs in a northerly direction for approximately 29 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 4.5 metres. Schedule Willow Walk, footpath alleyway between Nos 7 and 8 (Drawing No M49, 969). The length of the highway footpath to be stopped up runs between Nos 7 and 8 Willow Walk, and commences at a point level with the northern boundary of the properties. The highway then travels in a southerly direction for approximately 20 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 2.5 metres. Schedule Clarence Road, Turning Head (Drawing No M50, 004) The length of the highway to be stopped up commenced at a point to the rear of the eastern side footpath of Clarence Road, opposite the entrance to The Gray Art Gallery Museum. The highway then runs in a southerly direction for approximately 27 metres. The width of the highway is approximately 11.5 metres. 20 March 2002.
