THE BEXLEY (FREE PARKING PLACES) (DISABLED PERSONS) (AMENDMENT NO   ) TRAFFIC ORDER 200 

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of, and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to, the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the Bexley (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No   ) Traffic Order 200  would be to: (a) designate parking places in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for a period during the permitted hours without charge in the roads specified in the Schedule to this notice; (b) provide that the parking place will operate at any time throughout the week; (c) specify, in respect of the parking places in the roads in the Schedule, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled persons’ badge (commonly referred to as “the Orange/Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 1982, may be left therein; and (d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, eg, to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc. 3. A copy of the proposed Order, the Bexley (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No 1) Traffic Order 1989 (and the Orders which have amended that Order), the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the Order relates can be inspected, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, in: (a) The Information Centre, Civic Offices, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB; and (b) Central Library, Reference Library, 1st Floor, Townley Road, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7HJ, during the normal opening times of the library. 4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Chief Engineer’s Department on 020-8303 7777, ext 2980. 5. Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that, in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this notice, open to public inspection.
