NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that W.G. Thorne & Son of Lower Marsh Farm, Kingston St Mary, Somerset TA2 8AB is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 16/52/005/S/495 which authorises the abstraction of water from the Mill Lease Stream at National Grid Ref ST 219 275 at Lower Marsh Farm, Kingston St Mary, Taunton, Somerset from 1 March to 31 October inclusive, at the rate of 360 cubic metres per day, 4,182 cubic metres per year. The variation being applied for is to abstract water from the Mill Lease Stream into the existing reservoir which will be enlarged and be filled during the period of 1 October to 31 March inclusive, at rates to be agreed with the Environment Agency. Thereby creating a winter fill of sufficient water for the next summers irrigation requirements. The maximum daily rate of abstraction from this winter filled reservoir is to be increased to 480 cubic metres per day and the annual authorised quantity is also to be increased to 30,000 cubic metres per year. There will be no change to the permitted extraction period of 1 March to 31 October inclusive from this reservoir. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Lower Marsh Farm, Kingston St Mary, Taunton, Somerset between 30 August 2002 and 27 September 2002. Any person who wishes to make representations about this application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Rivers House, East Quay, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 4YS, before the end of a said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
