NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR LICENCES TO ABSTRACT WATER

NOTICE OF A VARIATION TO A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Dales Water Services Ltd, Witherick Lane, Melmerby, Ripon, North Yorkshire HG4 5JB, is applying to the Environment Agency for licences to abstract water on behalf of the following clients. The applications are for three new abstraction licences and variation to an existing abstraction licence. Notice No 1 Take notice that J D and J Ford of Harmby Moor Farm, Harmby, Leyburn, North Yorkshire DL8 5HQ, is applying for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the millstone grit at National Grid Ref Point SE 1317 9124 at Harmby Moor Farm in the Parish of Harmby, Richmondshire District of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 2.5 cubic metres per hour. 40 cubic metres per day. 14,600 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for agricultural use on a dairy farm. Notice No 2 Take notice that Barker Business Park Ltd, BBP House, Keld Close, Barker Business Park, Melmerby, Ripon HG4 5NB, is applying to vary licence serial number 2/27/22/509 to abstract water from a borehole in the sherwood sandstone at National Grid Ref Point SE 3349 7541 at Barker Business Park in the Parish of Hutton Conyers, Harrogate District of North Yorkshire. The variation being applied for is: 1.  To include a borehole at National Grid Ref Point SE 3390 7544 as an additional means of abstraction; 2.  To increase the authorised quantities from 13 cubic metres per hour, 18 cubic metres per day, 6,000 cubic metres per year to 13 cubic metres per hour, 25 cubic metres per day, 6,000 cubic metres per year in aggregate from both boreholes. Notice No 3 Take notice that John Stevenson and Sons, Highfield Farm, Loftus, Saltburn by the Sea, Cleveland TS13 4UG is applying for a licence to abstract water from a borehole as an additional means of abstraction (2) to increase the authorised quantities from 13 cubic metres per hour, 18 cubic metres per day, 6,000 cubic metres per year to 13 cubic metres per hour, 25 cubic metres per day, 6,000 cubic metres per year in aggregate from both boreholes. Notice No 4 Take notice that John Stevenson and Sons, Highfield Farm, Loftus, Saltburn by the Sea, Cleveland TS13 4UG is applying for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Ravenscar Group at National Grid Ref Point NZ 7335 1693 at Highfield Farm in the Parish of Loftus within the Unitary Authority of Redcar and Cleveland. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 3 cubic metres per hour. 20 cubic metres per day. 7,000 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for agricultural use on a dairy farm. Notice No 5 Take notice that York and District Amalgamation of Anglers, St Clement’s Working Men’s Club, Count De Burgh Terrace, York YO23 1HH, is applying for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the sherwood sandstone at National Grid Ref Point SE 5393 5291 at Low Moor, Hessay, in the Parish of Upper Poppleton within the Unitary Authority of York. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 8 cubic metres per hour. 164 cubic metres per day. 14,800 cubic metres per year. The water will be used to maintain levels in fishing lakes. A copy of the applications for notices 1, 2, 3 and 4 may be inspected free of charge at all reasonable hours at the respective clients’ addresses. A copy of the application for notice 5 may be inspected, free of charge, at Upper Poppleton Post Office, Station Road, Upper Poppleton, York between 14 March and 13 April 2003.
