ROYAL MAIL GROUP PLC SCHEME OP 1/2003

(This Note is not part of the Scheme) Note. The Scheme which follows this Note is made under section 89 of the Postal Services Act 2000 and amends the Successor Postal Services Company Overseas Parcel Post Scheme 2001. The Scheme, which comes into force on 17 March 2003, revises certain postal charges.

ROYAL MAIL GROUP PLC OVERSEAS PARCEL POST (AMENDMENT NO 5) SCHEME 2003

Made 11 March 2003 Coming into operation 17 March 2003 Royal Mail Group plc(a) by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by section 89 of the Postal Services Act 2000(b) and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, hereby makes the following Scheme: Commencement and citation 1. (1) This Scheme shall come into operation on 17 March 2003 and may be cited as the Royal Mail Group plc Overseas Parcel Post (Amendment No 5) Scheme 2003. (2) This Scheme shall be read as one with the Successor Postal Services Company Overseas Parcel Post Scheme 2001(c) (hereinafter called “the Scheme”), as amended by the Consignia plc Overseas Parcel Post (Amendment No 1) Scheme 2001(d), the Consignia plc Overseas Parcel Post (Amendment No 2) Scheme 2001(e), the Consignia plc Overseas Parcel Post (Amendment No 3) Scheme 2002(f) and the Consignia plc Overseas Parcel Post (Amendment No 4) Scheme 2002(g). Fees for customs clearance 2. In paragraph 9 of the Scheme (Fees for customs clearance), for the figure “£7.25” there shall be substituted “£7.75”. (c) The Post Office Overseas Parcel Post Scheme 1982 was amended, renamed the Successor Postal Services Company Overseas Parcel Post Scheme 2001 and treated as made under section 89 of the Postal Services Act 2000 by article 41 of the Post Services Act 2000 (Commencement No 4 and Transitional and Saving Provisions) Order 2001 (2001/1148 (C37)). Royal Mail Group plc is the successor postal services Company referred to in article 41(1) of that Order. Its name was changed from Consignia plc on 4 November 2002.
