MERSEYTRAM (LIVERPOOL CITY CENTRE TO KIRKBY) ORDER
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER

Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive (“Merseyside”) has applied to the Secretary of State for Transport under section 6 of the Transport and Works Act 1992 for the above-mentioned Order under sections 1 and 3 of that Act. The proposed Order makes provision for the construction of a tram system from Liverpool city centre to Kirkby (known as Merseytram Line 1) including provision for the stopping-up or diversion of existing rights of way, traffic regulation, street works, the construction of stops along the route, an operations and control centre and a park & ride facility, other associated and consequential works, the compulsory purchase of land and rights in land, the use of land permanently and the temporary possession of land. Any objections to, or other representations about the proposals in the application should be sent to the Secretary of State for Transport, Department for Transport, c/o TWA Orders Unit, Zone 3/11, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR on or before 27 November 2003.
