SOUTH DOWNS NATIONAL PARK (DESIGNATION) VARIATION ORDER 2004
Notice is hereby given that the above Order was made on 5 January 2004, and is about to be submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation. The effect of the Order will be to include additional land totalling approximately 1.45 square kilometres situated near Arundel in the district of Arun in the county of West Sussex. Objections and representations should only relate to areas covered by the boundary extension as specified in the Variation Order (not to any part of the boundary for, or area of, the proposed National Park) and to the principle of a National Park. These must be supported by evidence that it is not especially desirable to designate this additional area for the purposes of a National Park. At the same time, comments on possible administrative arrangements for a South Downs National Park Authority established under the Environment Act 1995 are invited in relation to the land covered by the Variation Order.
