CHANGES TO PARKING PLACES AND THE PROVISION OF A CONTRAFLOW CYCLE LANE IN THE SLIP ROAD LINKING WATERLOO ROAD WITH BELVEDERE ROAD

(This notice is about the Council’s proposals to introduce a cycle lane in the above road that will provide pedal cycle access from Belvedere Road to Waterloo Bridge and to replace the existing parking meter bays in this section of road with pay and display parking places. Objections are invited, see paragraph 5.) 1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth propose to make the Lambeth (Waterloo) (Parking Places) (No ) Order 2004 and the Lambeth (Prescribed Route) (No ) Traffic Order 2004 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. The general nature and effect of the Orders would be: (a) to provide a contraflow cycle lane on the north-eastern side of the slip road linking Waterloo Road with Belvedere Road; and (b) to revoke the existing parking meter bays on the south-western side of the slip road linking Waterloo Road with Belvedere Road and to replace them with pay and display parking places instead (the charges for the use of the parking places, the time limits for their use and the classes of vehicles that may use the parking places will not be changed). 3. If you have any enquiries about this matter, please telephone the Council’s Transportation and Highways Group on 020 7926 0205. 4. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders are available for inspection until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, or as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders at the offices of the Transport and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, Brixton, London SW9 9SP, during normal office hours. 5. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to Barbara Poulter, Transport and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, Brixton, London SW9 9SP, by 5 March 2004.
