NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Anglian Water Services Limited, of Henderson House, Lancaster Way, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE29 6XQ is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence 8/37/21/G/64 to abstract water from 10 boreholes in the Chalk at Grid Refs TL 847 297, TL 850 298, TL 816 302, TL 804 318, TL 805 317, TL 786 347 and TL 684 381 in Earls Colne, Halstead, Castle Hedingham and Steeple Bumpstead in Essex. The proposal is to renew abstraction at the currently licensed rate of 17,000,000 cubic metres in any five year period that will otherwise reduce with effect from 1 April 2005. The water will be used for public water supply. A copy of the application and any maps and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the address given above and at Halstead Public Library, Bridge Street, Halstead, Essex, CO9 1HU between 24 May and 25 June 2004. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to The Environment Agency, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
