PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF A TRANSFER OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that an application, Ref BL9607, made by Great Lakes (UK) Ltd. to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit has been transferred to Pentagon Fine Chemicals Ltd. The permit is to operate an installation involving the manufacture of fine chemicals, in particular for the pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and industrial sectors. The installation is located at Lower Road, Halebank, Widnes WA8 8NS, in the borough of Knowsley, in the county of Merseyside. There are no foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment. Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate the Pentagon Fine Chemicals Ltd. Halebank Site, is held in registers at the following locations: The Environment Agency, Appleton House, 430 Birchwood Boulevard, Birchwood, Warrington, Cheshire WA3 7WD; and Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Environmental Health, Woodcroft West Street, Prescot, Liverpool L34 1LF. Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice. The Environment Agency, Environment Agency Area Office, SPG Team, Richard Fairclough House, Knutsford Road, Warrington, Cheshire WA4 1HG. Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
