NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Anglian Water Services Limited of Henderson House, Lancaster Way, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE29 6XQ, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary Licence 8/37/21/G/64 to authorise abstraction from 10 boreholes in the Chalk at Grid Refs TL 847 297, TL 850 298, TL 816 302, TL 804 318, TL 805 317, TL 786 347 and TL 684 381 in Earls Colne, Halstead, Castle Hedingham and Steeple Bumpstead in Essex. The proposed variation is for a temporary increase in the licensed abstraction rate from 17,000,000 cubic metres to 18,500,000 cubic metres in any 5 year period up to 31 March 2008. The quantity authorised will be aggregated with the Licence No 8/37/23/71, for boreholes in the Lower Colne Valley. There will be no increase in the overall quantity of water that may be abstracted. The water will be used for public water supply. A copy of the application and any maps and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the address given above and at Halstead Library, Bridge Street, Halstead, Essex CO9 1HU, between 4 October 2004 and 5 November 2004.
