THE AMALGAMATION OF THE LOWER SEVERN, NORTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE AND LONGDON AND ELDERSFIELD INTERNAL DRAINAGE DISTRICTS
Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 3(5) and (7) of the Land Drainage Act 1991, proposes to make an Order confirming a Scheme submitted by the Environment Agency under section 3(1) of the Act. The scheme makes provision for: (i) The abolition of the Lower Severn Internal Drainage Board, the North Gloucestershire Internal Drainage Board and the Longdon and Eldersfield Internal Drainage Board; (ii) the amalgamation of the internal drainage districts under the jurisdiction of the above-mentioned internal drainage boards into one new internal drainage district; (iii) the constitution of a new internal drainage board for the internal drainage district formed by such amalgamation; (iv) matters supplemental thereto or consequential thereon. A copy of the Order, together with a copy of the Scheme has been deposited at the offices of the Lower Severn Internal Drainage Board, Waterside Buildings, Oldbury Naite, Thornbury, South Gloucestershire BS35 1RF; the North Gloucestershire Internal Drainage Board, Moorend House, Moorend Road, Eldersfield, Gloucestershire GL19 4NS; and the Longdon and Eldersfield Internal Drainage Board, 3 Rosefield Crescent, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 8EG, and at the Environment Agency, Midlands Region, Sapphire East, 550 Streetsbrook Road, Solihull B91 1QT and at the offices of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Area 3 b, Ergon House, Horseferry Road, London SW1P 2AL, for public inspection during normal office working hours for a period of 30 days after the date of publication of this notice. Copies of the draft Order may be obtained from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Any objection to the draft Order should be made in writing and sent to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Area 3 b, at the above address, within the period mentioned above, quoting Ref LDC 2431.
