THE PONTYPOOL AND BLAENAVON (PHASE 1) RAILWAY ORDER
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER

The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway Company (1983) Ltd (“the Company”), whose address to which all requests for further information and all notices or other documents required to be served upon the applicant is c/o Winckworth Sherwood, 35 Great Peter Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3LR, is applying to the National Assembly for Wales under section 6 of the Transport and Works Act 1992 for the above-mentioned Order under sections 1 and 5 of that Act. The draft Order makes provision for the transfer to the Company of statutory and other powers and duties relating to the existing railway in the town of Blaenavon, Torfaen County Borough. The said railway is 3,357 metres in length and commences at Whistle Road Bridge and terminates at a point to the south of Varteg Road Bridge. In addition the draft Order makes other provisions as to the railway. Any objections to, or other representations about, the proposals in the application should be sent to the National Assembly for Wales, c/o the Department for Transport, Transport and Works Act Orders Unit, Zone 9/01, Southside, 105 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6DT, on or before 30 August 2005. An objection or representation MUST (i) be received by the National Assembly for Wales on or before 30 August 2005, (ii) be made in writing, (iii) state the grounds of objection or representation, (iv) indicate who is making the objection or representation, and (v) give an address to which correspondence relating to the objection or representation may be sent. The National Assembly for Wales may make objections and other representations public and will copy them to the applicant for the Order.
