DECLARATION OF A NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
PARISHES OF LUSTLEIGH, MANATON AND BOVEY TRACEY
COUNTY OF DEVON

Notice is hereby given in pursuance of section 19 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949, and section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, that by the East Dartmoor Woods and Heaths National Nature Reserve No 3 Declaration 2004, made on 24 November 2005, English Nature declared that the land containing 3.12 hectares or thereabouts situated in the Parish of Lustleigh, in the county of Devon and shown on the plan attached to the said Declaration (which land was included in the East Dartmoor woods and Heaths No 1 Declaration 1998, made by the The Nature Conservancy Council for England on 16 July 1998), has ceased to be managed by English Nature as a nature reserve. In pursuance of section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, English Nature declared that the land having a total area of 6.58 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the parish of Bovey Tracey and in the county of Devon and shown single hatched and shaded yellow on the maps attached to the declaration, has been acquired and is being held by English Nature. And in pursuance of section 19(2) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949, and section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and all other powers aforesaid, English Nature further declared that the said land is being managed as a nature reserve. In pursuance of section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, English Nature declared that the land having a total area of 41.57 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the parishes of Lustleigh and Manaton in the county of Devon and shown cross hatched and shaded yellow and cross hatched and unshaded on the plan attached to the Declaration, is being held by The Woodland Trust, a body approved by English Nature and managed as a nature reserve. This Declaration is additional to the land previously declared, which is shown un-hatched and shaded yellow on the attached map(s). This Declaration may be referred to as the East Dartmoor Woods and Heaths National Nature Reserve No 3 Declaration 2005. Certified copies of the East Dartmoor Woods and Heaths National Nature Reserve No 3 Declaration 2005, have been deposited for public inspection, free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of Devon County Council, the Dartmoor National Park Authority and at the offices of English Nature in Exeter and Peterborough and the Woodland Trust in Grantham.
