NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Burnham & Berrow Golf Club Ltd, of St Christopher’s Way, Burnham on Sea, Somerset TA8 2PE, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a lagoon and a connected rhyne in underground strata comprising unconsolidated dune sand, at National Grid Ref ST 2922 5258, at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club, St Christopher’s Way, Burnham on Sea, Somerset, in the Parish of Berrow, District of Sedgemoor. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 23 cubic metres per hour, 385 cubic metres per day, 30,740 cubic metres from 1 March to 31 October, inclusive, in any 12-month period. The water will be used for spray irrigation and the topping-up of dune slacks. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the Managing Secretary Office, Burnham & Berrow Golf Club, St Christopher’s Way, Burnham on Sea, Somerset TA8 2PE, between 2 December 2005 and 6 January 2006. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to Regulatory & Technical (Water Resources), Environment Agency, Rivers House, East Quay, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 4YS, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
