PROPOSED PORT OF BLYTH (BATTLESHIP WHARF RAILWAY) ORDER
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER

The Blyth Harbour Commissioners (“the Commissioners”) of South Harbour, Blyth, Northumberland NE24 3PB, have applied to the Secretary of State for Transport under section 6 of the Transport and Works Act 1992, for an Order under sections 1 and 5 of that Act. The draft Order makes provision for the Commissioners to construct a railway forming sidings at the Port of Blyth on the eastern side of the River Blyth at Battleship Wharf in the district of Wansbeck, county of Northumberland, connecting into the existing mineral railway of Network Rail Infrastructure Limited and including a level crossing at North Blyth Road. The draft Order would also authorise powers for the temporary stopping-up and execution of street works in that road, the discharge of water into watercourses, public sewers and drains and other incidental, supplemental or consequential powers in relation to the railway. Any objections to, or other representations about, the proposals in the application should be sent to the Secretary of State for Transport, c/o Department for Transport, TWA Orders Unit, Zone 9/09, Southside, 105 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6DT, on or before 24 March 2006. An objection or representation MUST (i) be received by the Secretary of State on or before 24 March 2006, (ii) be made in writing, (iii) state the grounds of the objection or representation, (iv) indicate who is making the objection or representation, and (v) give an address to which correspondence relating to the objection or representation may be sent.
