EXTENSION OF WANDSWORTH COMMON CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE (D2)
1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth on
7 March 2006, made the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part
IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local
Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to continue indefinitely the parking
controls introduced as an experiment by:
The Wandsworth (Wandsworth Common) (Parking Places) (No 1) Experimental Order 2004.
The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (No 6) Experimental
Order 2004.
3. The Orders will be to extend the Wandsworth Common controlled parking zone sub
zone D2 into Burntwood Close and Burntwood Grange Road.
4. The following provisions apply to the extended controlled parking zone:
Parking places are designated in the roads described in paragraph 2 above.
Parking places are for permit holders only with the maximum parking period being
unrestricted. The hours of operation are 11.30 am to 12.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays.
Vehicles which may be left in the parking places during the hours of operation are
vehicles displaying either a valid resident permit, a valid resident visitor permit
or a valid business permit appropriate to the D2 sub zone or motor cycles (exempt
from charge).
The charge for resident permits is £25.00 (3 months), £40.00 (6 months) or £64.00
(12 months) and they will be issued to any person residing in the Wandsworth Common
D2 sub zone who is the owner of a passenger vehicle (12 seats or less) or a goods
carrying vehicle. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled the charge
will be £16 for 12 months.
The charge for business permits available in all zones is £155 (3 months), £270 (6
months) or £465 (12 months) and they will be issued to any person who occupies premises
in the Wandsworth Common D2 sub zone and who uses such premises for non-residential
purposes or is employed in those premises and who is the owner of a vehicle of the
class mentioned above. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled or carry
prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £135 for 6 months or £233
for 12 months. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled and carry prominent
and permanent company livery the charge will be £53 for 6 months or £90 for 12 months.
The charge for business permits available in one individual sub-zone only is £120
(3 months), £210 (6 months) or £360 (12 months) and they will be issued to any person
who occupies premises in the Wandsworth Common D2 sub zone and who uses such premises
for non-residential purposes or is employed in those premises and who is the owner
of a vehicle of the class mentioned above. For vehicles which are electrically or
gas propelled or carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £105
for 6 months or £180 for 12 months. For vehicles which are electrically or gas propelled
and carry prominent and permanent company livery the charge will be £53 for 6 months
or £90 for 12 months.
The charge for visitor permits will be £1.00 per day (50 pence per day if the applicant
is aged 60 or over or the holder of a disabled person’s badge or the parent of or
carer for a minor who is the holder of a disabled person’s badge) and they will be
issued to any household in the Wandsworth Common D2 sub zone. Each household will
be restricted to not more than fifty resident visitor permits per year (one hundred
if the applicant is aged 60 or over or the holder of a disabled person’s badge or
the parent of or carer for a minor who is the holder of a disabled person’s badge).
Note. All resident permits will only be valid within the sub zone in which the permit
holder resides.
All permits will be issued by Wandsworth Borough Council on application being made
together with payment of the appropriate charge.
Generally yellow line waiting restrictions are imposed in those lengths of Burntwood
Close and Burntwood Grange Road which are not occupied by parking places. The restrictions
operate between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays. Existing waiting restrictions
which operate for longer than those hours will remain.
5. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 13 March 2006, and of
documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected during normal
office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of a period of 6 weeks
from the date on which the Orders were made in The Concourse, The Town Hall, Wandsworth
High Street, London SW18 2PU.

7. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision
contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements of that
Act or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with
in relation to the Orders may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were
made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
