APPEAL UNDER THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

Appeals under section 28F(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as amended by the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, against the refusals of consent by English Nature relating to land notified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) at The Wash.
Notice is hereby given that an Inspector, appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, will hold an inquiry into this appeal against the refusals of consent by English Nature to permit the use of non-lethal electronic bird scarers on the mussel lays on land on The Wash Site of Special Scientific Interest which forms part of The Wash and North Norfolk Coast Special Area of Conservation and The Wash Special Protection Area.
The inquiry will commence on Tuesday 27 June 2006, at the Princess Margaret Room, Boston Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, West Street, Boston, Lincolnshire PE21 8QR. Interested persons may attend the inquiry.
