THE A595 TRUNK ROAD (BIGRIGG) (40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 200*

The Secretary of State for Transport gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order, if made as proposed, will impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit on the A595 Trunk Road at Bigrigg in the District of Copeland in the County of Cumbria, from a point 75.1 metres north of the gable wall of number 9 St. John’s Terrace, to a point 39.4 metres north of the gable wall of Orebank House. A total distance of 1,049 metres. The speed limit will not apply to vehicles being used for emergency purposes by the police, fire and rescue or ambulance services or anything done at the direction of, or with the permission of, a police officer in uniform. A copy of the Order, together with the relevant plan and a statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, have been deposited at Egremont Library, Wyndham School, Egremont, Cumbria, CA22 2DH, Bigrigg Sub Post Office, Springfield Road, Bigrigg, Egremont, Cumbria, CA22 2TN, and Amey Mouchel, Lillyhall Depot, Petwood Road, Lillyhall, Cumbria, CA14 4JP where they may be inspected during normal opening hours, or may be seen at or obtained by application to the Director, The Highways Agency, Traffic Operations, Room 908, City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester, M1 4BE, quoting reference HA 28/2/153 Part 1. Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposal to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director’s address given above, quoting reference HA 28/2/153 Part 1, to be received no later than Friday 8 February 2007.
