GENERAL IMPORT LICENCE

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS by this licence issued under the terms of Article 4 of the Importation of Embryos, Ova and Semen Order 1980 hereby authorise the landing in Scotland in accordance with the conditions attached, of

from

Northern Ireland Countries of Origin

at

Any Port or Airport in Scotland Port of Entry

unless varied or revoked by the Scottish Ministers.

CONDITIONS TO GENERAL LICENCE EOS/GEN/2007/1

Each consignment must be accompanied by a certificate signed by an official veterinarian of the Department of Agricultural and Rural Development, Northern Ireland, stating:

(a) details of consignment (number of doses, identification of donor animal, date (s) of collection, breed);

(b) name, address and registration number of the approved semen collection centre;

(c) destination of semen (place of loading, place of destination, means of transport, names and addresses of consigner and consignee, number and code-mark of semen containers, name and address of local divisional veterinary office).

2. Health attestation:

I, the undersigned official veterinarian, certify that:

(a) the semen described above was collected, processed and stored under conditions which meet the requirements of Directive 90/429/EEC;

(b) the semen described above was collected from boars on a collection centre which only contains animals that have not been vaccinated against Aujeszky’s disease and which have reacted negatively to the serum neutralisation test or to the ELISA test for Aujeszky’s disease, in accordance with the provisions of Directive 90/429/EEC.

3. The material must be made available, if so required for inspection by an officer of the Scottish Ministers at any place nominated by them for such an inspection. The importer shall afford all assistance necessary to such an officer to enable him to carry out the inspection in such a manner as he shall determine and the importer shall be responsible for meeting any costs of carrying out such an inspection.

This is not a Department of Trade and Industry licence

Caution

Any breach of any conditions attached to this licence will constitute an offence against the Animal Health Act 1981.
