PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 17 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that Alcoa Manufacturing (GB) Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a substantial change to the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate 70 tonne aluminium melting & casting facility “DC5” at 170 Kitts Green Rd, Kitts Green, Birmingham, B33 9QR in the District of Hodge Hill in the County of West Midlands.

The application contains the information required by the regulations. This information is held in registers at the following locations:

IPPC Public Register, Environment Agency, Sentinel House,9 Wellington Crescent, Fradley Park, Lichfield,Staffordshire, WS13 8RR

Kevin Royal, Environmental Services, Birmingham City Council, The Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham, B1 1BB

Members of the public can inspect these registers free of charge at the above stated addresses during normal office hours (9am - 5pm Monday - Friday). In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying.

Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice.

Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.

This application is subject to the Public Participation Directive. This means the Environment Agency will consult on the draft variation notice before finally determining this application. The draft notice will be placed in the public registers and advertised on the Environment Agency website at www.environment-agency.go.uk/draftdecisions
