NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR CONSENT TO CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE AN OFFSHORE WIND POWER ELECTRICITY GENERATING STATION APPROXIMATELY 14 KILOMETRES OFF THE COAST OF NORTH NORFOLK

Notice is hereby given that Centrica (DSW) Limited (Registration Number: 4942184) (“the Company”) whose registered office is Millstream East, Maidenhead Road, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GD has applied for:

  • 1 Consent from the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change under section 36 Electricity Act 1989, together with a declaration as to rights of navigation under section 36A, (as included in the Electricity Act 1989 by Section 99 Energy Act 2004), and Deemed Planning Permission under Section 90 Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (for works between mean low water springs and mean high water springs)
  • 2 Consent from the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under Section 34 of Coast Protection Act 1949, as amended by Section 36 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1988;
  • 3 Licence from the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under Section 5 of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 to construct an offshore wind farm approximately 14 km off the coast of North Norfolk (including installation of inter-array cables and export cables up to mean high water springs).

The wind farm, which would be known as Docking Shoal, would have a total electrical capacity of up to 540 megawatts and its location is shown on the map which is included in Chapter 4, Volume 1: Offshore of the Environmental Statement at Figure 4.1.

The Environmental Statement explains the Company’s proposals in more detail and presents an assessment of the environmental impacts. A copy of the Environmental Statement with a Non-Technical Summary thereof, is available for inspection during normal working hours at Centrica’s offices, Millstream East, Maidenhead Road, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GD and at:
