NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Halton Borough Council (“the Council”) of Municipal Building, Kingsway, Widnes, Cheshire, WA8 7QF in exercise of its powers under section 168 the Transport Act 2000 on 5 December 2008 has made the A533 (Silver Jubilee Bridge) Road User Charging Scheme Order 2008 (“the Order”) and will submit the Order for confirmation to the Secretary of State care of the Department for Transport, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR.

The Order will permit the Council to levy charges upon vehicles used or kept on the Silver Jubilee Bridge and certain other roads being 4015 metres of the A533 connecting Runcorn to Widnes, in connection with the Council’s proposals to construct a new road bridge between Widnes and Runcorn, known as the Mersey Gateway Project.

A copy of the made Order and a plan showing the extent of the A533 to be subject to road charges for its use pursuant to the Order and other documents relating to the Mersey Gateway Project may be inspected free of charge at the following locations and during the hours set out below:

Copies of the Order and the plan may be obtained from Matthew Fearnhead at Halton Borough Council, Environment Directorate, 3rd Floor, Rutland House, Runcorn WA7 2GW. A charge may be payable where hard copies are requested.
