PROPOSED LLANGOLLEN AND CORWEN RAILWAY ORDER
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER
The Llangollen Railway Trust (“the Trust”) of Railway Station, Abbey Road, Llangollen, Denbighshire, LL20 8SN, is applying to the Welsh Ministers under section 6 of the Transport and Works Act 1992, for an Order under sections 1 and 5 of that Act giving statutory authority to the Trust to extend its existing Llangollen to Carrog railway (“the existing railway”) by constructing and maintaining a new railway from Carrog to Corwen in the County of Denbighshire, largely constructed on the trackbed of part of the former Ruabon to Morfa Mawddach railway, together with related works and facilities.
The Order includes provisions for the construction and maintenance of the proposed works, including provisions to remove part of the former Ruthin to Corwen railway embankment, construction of a new station at Corwen and facilities, access to the works, a level crossing to carry the railway across footpath FP61 to the west of Carrog Station together with provision for the temporary stopping up of part of the said footpath where it crosses the former railway and powers to lop trees overhanging the proposed works. It also makes provision as to the sale or lease of the new railway and of the existing railway, and provisions applying the byelaws now in force to the new railway.
This application is made subject to an environmental impact assessment.
This application contains a statement that a direction for deemed planning permission is being applied for.

An objection or representation MUST (i) be received by the Welsh Ministers on or before Thursday 29th October 2009, (ii) be made in writing (whether sent by post or email), (iii) state the grounds of the objection or other representation, (iv) indicate who is making the objection or representation, and (v) give an address to which correspondence relating to the objection or representation may be sent. (If you are sending your objection or other representation by e-mail, please provide a postal address.)
The Welsh Ministers may make complete copies of the objections and other representations public, including any personal information in them, and will copy them to the applicant for the Order.
