WATER RESOURCES ACT 1991 (AS AMENDED BY THE ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995)
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991 that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by South West Water Limited to vary a consent to discharge treated sewage effluent to the Fal Estuary at National Grid Reference SW 83140 32200 from Falmouth Sewage Treatment Works, Falmouth Docks, Falmouth, TR11 4NR.
The proposal is to reduce the nutrient enrichment of the Carrick Roads by reducing the nitrogen in the discharge from the works. This improvement will remove the requirement for the present tidally phased discharge, and in doing so will reduce the discharges of storm sewage as more storm storage becomes available.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to Grant Wilson, Team Leader, The Environment Agency, Water Quality Permitting Support Centre, Quadrant 2, 99 Parkway Avenue, Parkway Business Park, Sheffield, S9 4WF, during the period 27/1/10 to 10/3/10 quoting reference 302642.
Please be aware that any representation may be made available to third parties under the Freedom of Information Act or Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
A copy of the application may be inspected free of charge at the Local Environment Agency office at Environment Agency, Public Register, Sir John Moore House, Victoria Square, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL31 1EB between the hours of 9 am and 4.30 pm Monday to Friday (not Bank Holidays). Please ring in advance to arrange an appointment by calling the National Customer Contact Centre on 08708 506 506.
