ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A406 GLA ROAD (NORTH CIRCULAR ROAD) (LONDON BOROUGHS OF BARNET, HARINGEY AND ENFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, STOPPING AND SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2010
- 1 Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under sections 14(1), (5), (7) and 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
- 2 The purpose of the Order is to enable works to take place on certain lengths of the A406 North Circular Road in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Haringey and Enfield.
- 3 The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(1) entering or exiting any side road or major junction with the A406 North Circular Road between its junction with Colney Hatch Lane and its junction with the A10 Great Cambridge Road,
(2) entering, proceeding or stopping along the A406 North Circular Road between its junction with Colney Hatch Lane and its junction with the A10 Great Cambridge Road,
(3) exceeding a speed limit of 20mph on the eastbound carriageway of A406 Pinkham Way / Telford Road / Bowes Road / North Circular Road / Sterling Way between its Junction with the easternmost extent of the Atlas Road on slip and the easternmost extent of the unnamed on slip road linking A406 Sterling Way with A10 Great Cambridge Road,
(4) exceeding a speed limit of 20mph on the westbound carriageway of A406 Pinkham Way / Telford Road / Bowes Road / North Circular Road / Sterling Way between its Junction with the easternmost extent of the unnamed off slip road linking A406 Sterling Way with A10 Great Cambridge Road and the easternmost extent of the Orion Road off slip,
(5) exceeding a speed limit of 30mph on the eastbound carriageway of A406 Pinkham Way / Telford Road / Bowes Road / North Circular Road / Sterling Way between its Junction with the easternmost extent of the Atlas Road on slip and the easternmost extent of the unnamed on slip road linking A406 Sterling Way with A10 Great Cambridge Road,
(6) exceeding a speed limit of 30mph on the westbound carriageway of A406 Pinkham Way / Telford Road / Bowes Road / North Circular Road / Sterling Way between its Junction with the easternmost extent of the unnamed off slip road linking A406 Sterling Way with A10 Great Cambridge Road and the easternmost extent of the Orion Road off slip,
(7) exceeding a speed limit of 40mph on the westbound carriageway of A406 Sterling Way / Angel Road between easternmost extent of the unnamed off slip road linking A406 Angel Road with A1010 Fore Street and the easternmost extent of the unnamed off slip road linking A406 Sterling Way with A10 Great Cambridge Road.
The Order will be effective at certain times from 12:01AM on 22nd May 2010 and until the works have been completed. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
- 4 The prohibition will not apply in respect of:
(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
- 5 At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs.
- 6 The Order will be revoked when the works have been completed.
