The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that she intends to make an Order under section 82(2) and 83(1) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Legislation: Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A38Trunk Road at its roundabout junction with the A5148 and A5206, near Lichfield in the County of Staffordshire.

The effect of the order would be to maintain the national speed limit on—

1) the circulatory carriageway of the A38 at its roundabout junction with the A5206 and the slip roads leading to and from the A5148;

2) the A38 from its junction with the roundabout described in 1) above to a point 56 metres southeast of that roundabout;

3) a length of the slip road leading to the southbound carriageway of the A5148 from the roundabout described in 1) above, from its junction with the roundabout to a point 42 metres southwest of that roundabout;

4) a length of the slip road leading to the northbound carriageway of the A38 from the roundabout described in 1) above, from its junction with the roundabout to a point 25.5 metres northeast of that roundabout, which would otherwise be subject to a speed limit of 30 miles per hour as a result of the street lighting installed on those lengths.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to Karen Eustace at the Highways Agency at the address given above. The objection should quote reference HA 28/8/116 and must be received no later than 3 January 2012 .
