NOTICE OF DROUGHT PERMIT

TAKE NOTICE that a Drought Permit has been granted by the Environment Agency on 13 December 2011 in respect of the Wansford intake to Rutland Water, following application by Anglian Water Services Limited (“the Company”) to the Environment Agency under Section 79A of the Water Resources Act 1991.

The Permit will vary the Company’s abstraction licence (Licence No.5/32/9/S/202) to allow the Company to abstract up to 763 million litres (167.8 million gallons) per day of water from the River Nene at the existing intake at Wansford when flow immediately downstream of the abstraction point is at least 62.5 million litres (13.8 million gallons) per day (as measured at Wansford gauging station) during the period from 13 December 2011 to 30 April 2012.

Anyone may inspect the Permit, free of charge, during normal working hours (0900 – 1700) at:

for a period of at least seven working days from the date of this Notice.
