NOTICE OF PROPOSED COAST PROTECTION WORK
North Norfolk District Council, acting in their capacity as Coast Protection Authority, hereby give notice, under section 5(1) of the Coast Protection Act, that they propose to carry out coast protection work at Cromer, Norfolk
The proposed works include the following:
- 1 The refurbishment of Cromer’s sea walls involving combinations of reinforced concrete encasement of parts of the walls and new foundations built using steel piles as appropriate to individual wall sections.
- 2 The refurbishment of Cromer’s eight groynes.
The estimated cost of the work is £8,790,000
Details of the proposed works can be inspected at the Council offices, Holt Road, Cromer between the hours of 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday.
Any person may, no later than Monday 16th April 2012, serve notice of objection to the proposal on the Secretary of State and on the Council.
Any such notice must contain a statement of the grounds of objection and must be delivered or sent by post to the Secretary of State and to the Chief Executive of the Council. Notices to be posted must be addressed to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, c/o Defra, Flood Management Division, Ergon House, Horseferry Road, London SW1P 2AL and to the Chief Executive, North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9EN
