Acquisition and Disposal of Land
Former Owner Crichel Down Considerations
LAND AT NORTON COURT FARM, NORTON FITZWARREN, SOMERSET
The land at the above location has been declared surplus to Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (“VOSA”) requirements and is to be sold. The Crichel Down Rules, as set out in the ODPM Circular 6-2004, under certain circumstances require land acquired under threat of compulsory acquisition to be offered back to the former owner or their successors in title at the current market value.
However, in this instance, the land is not to be offered back because exemptions apply. VOSA therefore wish to trace anyone who may fall within the definition of former owners or successors in title contained in the Crichel Down Rules in order to notify them of the decision. In particular these include the following:
Percival Charles Saunders
The former owner or his successors in title (other than through a purchase) are invited to contact VOSA within 2 months of the date of this notice by writing to:
Head of Estates, VOSA, Berkeley House, Croydon Street, Bristol BS5 0DA
Successors in title should state and provide evidence of their relationship to the former owner.
